Paris, part deux; Le Shopping.

Although we spent much of our time eating around the arrondissements (more on that, soon), we also had a lot of fun wandering in and out of boutiques.

To prove to you that Paris is more than just croissants and cafe au lait, here are a few of our favorite shops from our trip.

Photobucket
Top of our list was a visit to Merci. What can be said that hasn't already been said about this iconic shop? Allot a nice chunk of time (and a nice chunk of $$, as well) to fully enjoy this three floor concept shop. From perfume to vintage trunks to a librarie to a flower shop. Words don't do Merci justice. You need to soak it all up in their sunny loft space yourself.

Their fabric covered notebooks are making us look at the bolts of sample yardage at the studio in a new way.

Thanksgiving in Paris

Some of us at LM were lucky enough to skip the turkey and stuffing this year and enjoy Thanksgiving in Paris.
We rented an adorable flat in the Marais, steps from the Bastille station and pretty much in the center of everything we needed.

Though the Louvre is always a treat, we opted for some more unusual sightseeing this visit. First stop was the Museum of Hunting and Natural History where we saw taxidermied everything, ceilings covered in owls and a strong case for the existence of unicorns.

We also visited the catacombs. Amazing and beautiful. A must visit for everyone.

Since one of our best selling groups from Spring 11 is named after it, we took a stroll in Luxembourg Gardens. We especially loved the apiary.

Chubby's

We took a little roadtrip down to Philly last week. After we finished up with our meetings, we took care of real business by stopping off at Chubby's Steaks. Three cheesesteaks (confession: two were chicken cheesesteaks) and an order of fries were just what we needed before hopping back in the Jeep, blasting this song, and heading back to the NYC.

The Future's So Bright...

Ever since I saw this 31" wide aviator mirror in the Rago Arts catalogue, I can't get it out of my head.
On this cold and dreary day, I could use this little piece of endless summer hanging in my apartment.
